“I paint to both explore for myself, and communicate to others what takes place beyond linear reality. Between life and death there are myriad choices and I want to open my viewer’s mind and heart, as well as experience personally the nuances of this space. I often paint about the "myth of distance", because life has unveiled to me through observation an inter-connectedness that implies space is a myth, and I wish to portray that to those who might take a moment to respond to my work. Color and light make me so excited I have to put paint down to reflect their beauty, and I also love the mystery and variegated quality of metallic hues and patinas.
